The only role Cameron Diaz is interested in playing is a mother! The 45-year-old actress has vowed to take a step back from acting in order to focus on having a baby. This, of course, has left fans wondering: Where in the world is Cameron? Thankfully, she’s doing well and completely focused on her growing family alongside husband Benji Madden.
“Cameron hasn’t wanted to work,†a source told Us Weekly. “She is enjoying being at home and being a housewife. She would love more than anything to be a mom. At this point, they would be very happy with the miracle of one child. They aren’t really thinking past the first one at this point. They would love to have the chance to be parents.â€
In Touch previously reported that Cameron and Benji are looking into adoption as a way to welcome a little one. The source revealed that they “have decided to try adoption and have started the process. They want to adopt from within the US and are counting the days.”
Thankfully, the couple really is a united force when it comes to having a baby. “She’s been asking friends about adoption and reading parenting books. It’s taking time and they have been so patient, but they are both bursting with excitement,” the source added. “Cameron can’t wait to be a mom and thinks Benji will be such a good dad.”
In the meantime, don’t expect to watch Cameron grace the big-screen anytime soon. Whether a couple is determined to have a baby the natural way or through adoption, there’s no denying the process takes a lot out of a person. “They’re in it together. He would do anything for her,†the Us source continued. “It’s been a roller coaster of emotions, yet they still believe there will be a happy ending.â€
