Nicole Richie is keeping it all in the family on this season of #CANDIDLY NICOLE – because as past episodes have proved, well, they’re a hilarious bunch.
“I would say my whole family has a pretty good sense of humor,” Richie told reporters during a conference call on Wednesday. “My dad [Lionel Richie] is a jokester like me. He really loves to laugh.”
“He likes anybody to smile and if he’s the butt of the joke that’s going to make people laugh then he’s fine with that, and I feel that I’m kind of the same way,” adds Richie, who has recruited her dad for an episode that “focuses on old age and new medicine.”
“He’s getting older and I want him to take care of himself,” explains Richie. “I brought in my healer … and we did some acupuncture on him and some cupping.”
Meanwhile on another episode, Parks & Recreation star Rashida Jones teams up with Richie to attempt a world record.
“[Rashida’s] my God sister. I’ve known her forever,” says Richie. “She’s very smart. She’s a Harvard graduate and I went to [the University of Arizona], so I feel like it only made sense that the two of us set a world record.”
Plus, Richie’s newly married brother-in-law Benji Madden is also joining in on the family fun by making a “really funny” appearance as a realtor.
“Benji was on an episode where I discovered real estate and … I kind of had the idea, if you’re going to show somebody a house you need to have it be a real home. So I had different people in there just to make it feel very homey,” says Richie. “I thought that Benj would be great for that so he was one of the people that was in the house while I was showing different people the house.”
Will Richie’s new sister-in-law (and Madden’s wife) Cameron Diaz appear on the show?
She says, “I don’t know who’s going to be on the next season of my show.”
